Holly Hill, Florida (January 7, 2013) — Nissan Sport Magazine has merged with Grassroots Motorsports magazine and will no longer be published as a stand-alone publication. Starting with the April 2013 issue, nearly 5000 Nissan Sport subscribers will receive Grassroots Motorsports magazine for the duration of their previous Nissan Sport subscriptions.

Grassroots Motorsports magazine publisher and cofounder, Tim Suddard, feels confident about the merger: “From our very first issue, where we featured the 240Z on the cover, Nissan has always been a top-10 car of our readers and one of our personal favorites.”

“This will be an easy transition for us editorially. While everyone struggles some with change, we want to welcome our new readers and advertisers to the Grassroots Motorsports family and promise some really cool editorial content and great customer service.”

Nissan is already a vital part of Grassroots Motorsports’s editorial mix, and former Nissan Sport readers will no doubt enjoy Grassroots Motorsports in-depth features, project cars and tech stories.

Former Nissan Sport publisher David Muramoto has pledged to continue writing articles for Grassroots Motorsports and has already submitted a great piece on Nissan racing legend Bob Sharp for an upcoming issue.

Since 1984, Grassroots Motorsports has served American enthusiasts as the hardcore sports car magazine—the go-to publication for those who race their sports cars or simply want to enjoy them to the max. Each issue boasts nearly 200 pages of full-color editorial, while the magazine enjoys more than 50,000 in its circulation. It’s published eight times a year by Motorsport Marketing, Inc.

As a long time reader of Sport Z and Nissan Sport magazine I'm a little disappointed to hear this. I've also received GRM as part of my NASA membership but I would not subscribe to it otherwise. GRM has a lot to offer and is certainly one of the best automotive/motorsport magazines out there; but, it did not cover Nissan/Datsun enough for my liking- which would be an entire magazine dedicated to the brand. It will be interesting to see how this turns out. I and others would also be interested in getting our hands on some of the merchandise or memorabilia from the magazine as well (shirts, branded office supplies, etc).
