Group B Rally Club

For owners of All cars

Group B Rally Club is a US-based club formed as a way to share information and link enthusiast owners of rally-style cars generally from the 1970’s and 1980’s. Although some members own documented rally or homologation cars from the era, most have built their own street-based versions – everything from gravel to safari to tarmac cars – primarily in a ‘period correct’ manner. The emphasis of the club is to DRIVE the cars. Stone chips, dings and dents are badges of honor in our world. But there are no hard & fast rules – only a passion for rally cars of the 70’s and 80’s is required.

Since a wide array of cars was rallied in that era, the club is open to many marques and models. Obviously, the Audi quattro, the Lancia Integrale and Stratos, the Ford Escort, the Fiat 131, the Saab 99, the Porsche 911, and the Renault 5 Turbo are a few of the legendary rally cars that spring to mind. Some lesser known rally cars include the Mazda RX7, Peugeot 505, various Opels, the Volkswagen Golf Mk 1 & II, the BMW 2002/325/M3, Triumph TR7/8, Volvo 240, Datsun 510, Dodge Colt …. the list is nearly endless. The club intends to host various events including casual driving events, rallycross, track days, ice racing, and get-togethers at Rally America and other sanctioned rally events. We have setup, and will maintain, a website and message board for communication amongst members. Group B Rally Club stickers, T-shirts, hats, rally plates, etc. will become available to members.

The name of our club was inspired by the Group B cars rallied from 1982-1986. Certainly the pinnacle of the era and, by most accounts, the pinnacle of rallying overall, the FIA’s Group B regulations encouraged technical innovation. Many manufacturer’s got involved including Audi, Peugeot, Lancia, Ferrari, Porsche, Ford, Opel, Citroen, Rover and more. The cars were fast and dangerous, often referred to as ‘The Killer Bees’ - it was a motorsport series that will never be equalled, much like the original unlimited CanAm sportscars.”

What's this?

If you're reading this, you've probably seen these odd links with funny names somewhere on the site and want to know what they're all about. Well, prepare to feel a bit more Net savvy. Those links are what the geeks call "social networks."

Social networking sites allow you to store and share links and pages across the Internet. It's like taking your bookmarks list and being able to see it from any computer.

Even better, social networks allow you to steer friends, relatives, colleagues and pretty much anyone else to the cool stuff you've found, so they have something better to do online than watching the skateboarding squirrel video on YouTube for the thirtieth time. You're making the world a better place.

The only catch is that while all the social networks are free, you do have to register. Each site has a slightly different focus, so take a look through the links and see which service suits you best.
