2013 Grassroots Motorsports Experience at the Rolex 24 At Daytona

Jan 25 - Jan 27 at Daytona Beach, FL

We had a great time with everyone at the Rolex 24! If you didn't get a chance to stop by, here's a quick recap of the event.

Thank you, everyone, who joined us at Daytona for our 2013 Grassroots Motorsports Experience at the Rolex 24. Our readers again brought a great collection of cars. We also need to thank Continental Tire, Mazda, Luna-C, Trackpro Advisors, Krispy Kreme, Team Sahlen's, Swissvax, The FIRM, Maxima Racing Oils and eBay Motors.

The FIRM, Central Florida's own rally school and test track, also showed off one of their cars.

Everyone love a tram ride, right? We had our own for trips to the pre-race Fan Walk.

Some members of the GRM family had great weekends, others not so much. Charles Espenlaub ended Friday's Continental Tire Challenge race at the end of a tow rope. He was running eighth at the time.

Team Sahlen's has moved to BMW-powered Riley Daytona Prototypes for 2013, and they're still wearing the GRM colors. Our logo is on the wing endplates.

The BMW CCA Foundation's Michael Mitchell brought a beautiful E30 to our event. He won our people's choice award, and took home a nice selection of Swissvax car care products.

After dinner, JG entertained the crowd. And despite some threats, he did not smash that PRS guitar. After all, they needed it back as it's also a Grand-Am trophy.

Our friends from Sahlen's had a few run-ins. Fortunately the crew was able to get 43 back on track after replacing the nose, radiator and front undertray.

GRM [project cars](http://www.grassrootsmotorsports.com/project-cars) were on display, too.

Mazda showed off something neat, too, their Mazda6 SKYACTIV-D Clean Diesel race car. This might have been "just" the show car, but it was still way cool.

We'll see you next year!

Going to the 2013 Rolex 24 At Daytona? Come see us!

Our GRM Experience tickets might be sold out, but you can still enjoy our hospitality with a regular event ticket. Once you're inside the track, head to our giant circus tent located on the shores of Lake Lloyd. Meet the staff, see cool cars, watch some valve cover racing, buy a drink, bench race, make new friends, watch the live race feed, and basically do the event like an insider. We can no longer offer Saturday dinner or the rock star parking, but we'd love to see you.

Make sure you stop by Satrurday between 10:00 and noon to cast your vote for the People's Choice Award. Which car in the GRM corral—sponsored by Florida International Rally & Motorsport Park and [Maxima Racing Oils](http://www.maximausa.com/)—is the coolest? The People’s Choice Award Winner will receive high-performance car care products from Swissvax valued at more than $300. Swissvax is considered to be the finest car products of its kind. [The show is open to all GRM Experience ticket holders; click here for registration form.](http://www.classicmotorsports.net/media/img/rolex13/CarShowRegistration.docx)

New for this year: Valve cover racing is open to the general public and will be held Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. [Click here](http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/events/extra/valve-cover-racing-rules/) for the full set of rules.

One more bit of housekeeping: Tent camping is not permitted in the Grassroots Motorsports corral. It is strictly for car parking. Only those with GRM Experience parking passes may park in our corral.
