The modified fuel rails that came on the parts car were the vicrim of group stupidity.
They are not made anymore.
The next closest rails have been out of stock for over a month.
The only available rails are twice as much money. They are functionaly the same... Just prettier.
Straight rail is available cheap.... seems like the easier solution given challenge money and time.
I've considered it. But the tool is pricey and you have to get it perfect. The slightest bit of error can have devastating consequences.
Im going to keep looking for a used set that isn't FUBAR, but so far, no luck.
Edit:
I just found a used set of the very old style "logs" for cheap, not sure why i couldnt find them before, maybe because I was searching for "rails" instead of "log". And because he had it listed as only 3800 instead of l67 or supercharged.
So I should be able to just swap them in and note it in the budget?
If they're functionally equivalent to the rails you already had in budget, yep.
Taking the intercooler out of the build, now i can just use stock junk.
