Looking for the unlikely AND it needs to be within reason from Lansing, Mi:

I would like a very cheap complete running drivetrain (FWD engine and preferably automatic transmission including axles) from any one of the following:

  • Turbo Dodge
  • 60* V6 Chevrolet
  • 3800 V6 Buick
  • 2.4L DOHC Dodge
  • DSM 2.0L Turbo
  • F2T Mazda Turbo
  • Any other @200hp or higher FWD drivetrain that is easy to wire.

Personally I would like a Turbo Dodge because they make big power cheap and reliable but what do you know about.

The F2T will be a bit of a battle to hit your 200hp without getting a bit creative, methinks. But it DOES have relatively insane torque.

Add Camrys and Maximas.

200 is a rough round number and is in no way an absolute minimum.

  • Simple
  • Powerful
  • Available
  • Cheap
  • Not manufactured by VW unless it has a timing chain.

3800 poweed midsize sedans grow on trees around here. The Flint area seems to have cheaper pices. You should be able to find a complete runner for $500. around 2000 or so, these cars were 200hp right out of the box, superchraged 240. If this is going where I think it is, you may be better with the 3400 v6. it's narrower and still has 180hp before tuning. Cheap source for that would be Venture vans...

I am all ears. Both would do EXACTLY what I need.
