I'm having to clear out some room. And if you need room, then a big old Cadillac is the obvious one to clear out. Although it does break my heart to let this one go. It's responsible for me meeting my wife!

A California black plate car when I brought it to the Colorado desert. I got it stripped for a paint job, and I can tell you there is not an ounce of Bondo on this car. None. I tore the car down, repainted it, polished all the chrome and took it to Vegas. Believe it or not, it gets about 14 mpg on the highway and is possibly the best road trip car in existence. 70 mph is comfortable but feels fast, and it has that classic Cadillac ride that you only get from long-travel suspension, an enormous wheelbase, real sidewalls and soft springs. Aaaah. The four door hardtop body style isn't the most rigid, but it's beautifully airy with everything opened up and no window pillars.

Unfortunately, the beautiful paint job (6 coats of color, a full gallon of clear) has suffered in the Colorado sun so the car is nowhere near as beautiful as it once was. If you like patina, well, here it is. This is the original color.

Inside, there's leopard print on the dash and the armrests - the dash had cracked in the sun. An MP3/CD player is hidden behind a door in the center of the dash so you have modern tunes without the garishness of a modern head unit. The fabric on the driver's seat has torn. The HVAC system is pneumatic and automatic and I've never bothered trying to get it all working, although it is complete.

Mechanically, it's stock other than an MSD 6D ignition, Pertronix igniter and a Flamethrower coil. The engine is the Cadillac-only 429 with 480 ft-lb of torque. There's a leak at the rear main seal that is probably from a poor replacement on the part of yours truly. It appears the alternator has died as well, I'll replace that as part of the sale. The carb was rebuilt a few years back. There's a small leak in one of the brake circuits, but it's very slow and I've never found it. Possibly a wheel cylinder. The tires have seen about 7 years of Colorado sun so you should probably replace them.

Could be driven home, although right now it drips out a quart of oil every 100 miles. If you want the rear main seal leak fixed, I can have that done here for you. I've taken it on two 1000-mile road trips across the desert without mechanical problems other than the leaky seal.

Includes a number of spares such as an extra set of freshly rebuilt heads, misc interior parts, one or two front fenders, a spare carb and many other parts.

The car's in Grand Junction, CO. $1500.

    Older pictures Interior

Paint job. As you can see, the car was stripped down without any dodgy masking.

The only difference now is the sun damage to the paint.

When you have a picture of your car that's this cool, you have to include it in the ad.

Where would you put all those extra parts?

Will the paint buff to any level of reasonable, or is it done?

Unfortunately, the clear is burned badly. It's not going to buff up.

WTF, Keith, that's only worth $1500?

I'll buy it and you can hold onto it for me, only that doesn't solve your problem at all

    I even don't mind the paint...somehow a sun-damaged Caddy seems kinda 'right'.

Oh wow. I'm over in Oregon, just bought/traded for a '74 Cadillac Eldorado with 80k miles, beautiful interior, strong 500ci engine...but the tranny is slipping! I'm a single Dad and college student just out've the military so I'm a bit bummed as it's my DD.

I doubt you'd want to trade LOL, but it seems like out've these two I could really make something - I want a pre-70 so bad, and the car sounds legit. Want to get in touch? ohearn dot thomas at gmail dot com
