Actually, as long as you have a garage and can keep it out of the rain most of the time, the rust that's there usually doesn't get worse too quickly. At least this strategy has worked well with the 02s I've owned during the last 10 years.
If you don't have an indoor place though, that's not a very good situation as most of the body seals probably leak.
This car has been for sale for a little while. Surprised it hasn't sold yet. ... maybe because it's kind of off the beaten path in Orange, Va.?
