Seriously, an EFI 300 with an OD trans would make that a completely useful pickup.

Love that period correct color combo. I hope that it has a woven vinyl plaid interior.

I had a 79 version with a 302 and it was a POS. It would only burn Amoco high test without spark knocking and it wouldn't pull a sick whore off a piss pot. My F-I-L bought it from the company, drove, for a while, blew the motor (not a suprise), put in another motor and drove it for years. I guess this was at the epitome of the smog era badness.

All that said, I like the truck in the ad.
