meh - this is from their terms of registration:

"Seller Bidding: The SELLER or their agent RESERVE THE RIGHT TO BID on their own item in order to protect their investment. "

that's lame right there. shill bidding must run rampant to "protect their investment"

I just left Michigan...if I had known there were 150 dollar Corvettes, I may have stayed...

Byron Center is indeed in Michigan.

Is it wrong that when I read the title of this thread the first time I read it as "1985 Chevrolet CHEVETTE" and was subsequently disappointed when it turned out to be a Corvette?
There was a mint '82(I believe) Chevette,Diesel,4-speed for sale locally but I was broke at the time so my garage is Chevetteless. That sounds offensive...Chevetteless... "What do you think of the new boss?" "He's pretty Chevetteless if you ask me."

Thing is with those sites, they take the highest bid from the web and bring it to the live public/private auction and then bid your price (minus their fees) on your behalf. If the winning web-based bid is a joke ($150 for example), there's no way you're actually going to win the car once it goes live at the auction house.

Edit: according to the website, the auction hasn't even started yet. Starts at 7/30/09.

My new hero! Renault Guy that is.

Seriously though, why are the awesome deals always either gone or too far away?

Looks like it sold for a little over 3K. Still a cheap Vette. Is that like a cheap Porsche?

nah at least a cheap vette still takes plain old dime a dozen small block chevy parts if the engine breaks.
