Too many projects right now. Wish I could keep it but I don’t have the time or space to finish it. I built the engine at college in custom engines class at UNOH. It started life as a 1994 4.0L. It has been bored .060 over and stroked with a 4.2L crank to make it a 4.7L. Transmission is a 2WD AX15 (truck is a late model 1989) with a LUK Pro Gold clutch and new flywheel. Engine harness, interior harness, and gauges have been swapped over from a 1991 Cherokee. While working on the truck a tree branch fell on the front clip. Damage was minor but it gave me an excuse to swap the front clip over to a 97+ Cherokee front end.

-Head is a 1995 casting which has been ported, 3 angle valve job, and SBC Z28 springs with shims. Height and spring rates match cam requirements. -Crane cam (I‘ll dig up the cam card later) -Speedpro pistons 9.7:1 compression -Moly rings -2001 intake manifold -1995 Grand Cherokee 25 lbs injectors - Rods have ARP bolts and have had the sides polished. - Rotating assemble has been balance - Stainless header. -Throttle body has had taper removed, 60mm straight through -Engine has been run for 30 minutes then moved around my yard a few times. Truck has sat for 2 years but I fire it up every other month. -I’m sure there is a lot of other stuff I’m forgetting
Reasons the price is low:
-Few dents on the cab. -Bed is rust free but it tweaked ½ in the back. Not a big deal but it bugs me. -Tail gate has some rust on the lower edge, should be fixable -When I bought the truck it had front end damage that someone else fixed. They did a poor job so I had to cut out some of the unibody and replace it. I replicated factor spot welds and braced the spot where it was cut and welded with a plate. -Truck does not idle smooth. Not sure why. Computer might not like the cam. Engine was broken in for 30 minutes and that’s as far as I got. I use a factor computer before I discovered Megasquirt. -Truck does not have a driver’s seat. As stupid as it is, I think that’s the whole reason I stopped working on it. I was sick of moving it around the yard on a milk crate.
Parts alone are worth the price. Complete the project or swap the whole drive train into another Jeep or AMC. (Always wanted to put this into an AMC Spirit)
