Lou you are horrible at this... The car is a Rod Millen Escort GT. I purchased it from the second owner a few years back (female college student) who purchased it from the original owner (female nurse). I sold it to lou with the RMM option sheet and stacks and stacks of receipts for all sorts of maintenance but zero upgrades beyond what was installed by RMM. Originally equipped with the aero wing, grill, color coded mirrors, RMM header/exhaust, JDM/RMM strut bar, Jacobs ignition, fully upgraded stereo, 15" aftermarket wheels and the sport suspension (according to what was checked off on the build sheet) that was not present when I got the car. Very unique car/opportunity that I would buy back in a heart beat to restore if I wasn't over my head in projects at the moment. I'd say good luck with the sale but at that price it's like buying the super rare RMM body parts and exhaust that happens to come with a whole car attached.

Car is located in New Paltz, NY. Looks to be in good shape overall, good challenge potential. Slap a turbo on it and go, or just clean it up, make it look nice, and get a decent suspension and sticky tires under it. Should be a mid-low 15s car as it sits. If someone here is interested let me know and i'll put you in contact with the seller. If someone here buys it, i will also supply a nice set of corner lights if the car is still currently lacking them. The following pictures are a little old.

I miss my EGT some days...

That's not the stock hood (for the RMM) is it?

Nah, looks like a somewhat badly-done NACA duct put in.

Every time I see an Escort GT I wish I could fit in one. I almost bought a new one in '89, but could not get comfortable behind the wheel.

You know the '91 and newer is completely different than the '90 and prior, right? And the GT had a tilting seat base and tilt column which helps a bit.

    cghstang,

yes, I realize the '89 and newer Escorts are different, but not that different. When I got behind the wheel of the '89 my legs were in constant contact with the bottom of the steering wheel rim. While a tilting seat base might have cured that, a tilting seat couldn't cure the lack of foot room. I wouldn't have been able to extend either foot on long distance drives.

Isn't there AUDM parts from the Laser that could dress up that era of Escort

Yep. The front fascia by and large can be swapped out for any number of combinations.

    Tracer LTS
    Protege
    3-hole Familia GTX
    Laser
    TX3

I actually had a thread a few months ago asking about the legality of the 3-hole bumper swap for my autox class, now that i think about it.

To the best of my knowledge, that's a Laser with the GTX Mazda 3-hole bumper.

Not mine: Kinda back from the dead because I found the original Rod Millen wheels on Detroit's CL: http://detroit.craigslist.org/wyn/pts/2381436802.html but they are in Ann Arbor.

    $250
