It's your neighborhood, you should save it.
Go ahead, talk you father into doing another project, or at least into letting you do another project.

Yeah, you save it! It would be way cooler than an E30 and you can haul a go kart around in it. Win!

You know there's a fella who rents his tow dolly for $30/day (negotiable for longer periods) over in Norcross? I've delt with him, real easy going, no deposit
(I think I solved your problem)

I would love it, but have nowhere to keep it.

All GTi stuff bolts right on. I saw one at a show once, very nice!
$500 + cost of traveling from NY to Daytona twice.... trying to justify it.

Duke,
You could borrow my trailer for the trip if you needed to. You'd be coming down I-75, and I am not that far off of 75 (near exit 216, where Summit is). Just sayin'. It even has a winch so that you don't have to push! Of course, those pickups don't weigh much.

Strut towers are probably shot to hell with rust. VW thought it would be good to make double wall towers and NOT coat them with any kind of rust proofing.

There's at least one of these in a local (desert, rust free) junkyard. I didn't look too closely at it, but if anyone's interested I could probably pull up the yard info.
