Not mine, no affiliation, I don't usually get excited about deals, but this is an AC the owner claims runs, for $1100:

"....runs but needs the new timing belt put back on."

Isn't that right up there with " A/C is good, just needs a re-charge".?

Actually, I like old Fiat coupes, preferring the single headlight 850 just a tiny bit more than the single headlight 124....and you can keep the "crash bumpered" 124's.

But as usual, WAAAAY too far away, and what's with the suspension?

Yeah but even an engine transplant is cheap at this price...

Has he done something to those headlights? They don't look quite right...kind of, angled and ellipsoidal, and too big. Or is my mind deceiving me?

No, I think you're right - I noticed that as well when I looked at the ad. There's something wrong with them, and they're also too big from what I remember.

The hood scoop doesn't help much, either.

It looks like there is a cover on the headlight closest to the camera and it's missing on the far one.

They look "Arbarth" like covers to me.

good call, I can see what he did now. Yeah the scoop sucks, but could be fixed with some time/effort. Also almost looks as if the turn signals (that are supposed to sit in the grille corners) are hanging under the front fender, again, for the price, I'd hit it. I asked my wife if I could road trip out to get it, as if

Wow, don't see many of those. Does most of the 124 non-coupe parts fit?

Drivetrain does, body parts and glass are a big fat no...

The head lights remind me of Fiat 850 Spyder but bigger and not raked as much. Never saw one like that either. I just googled the car and it shows late 60s with vertically mounted single round headlights and early 70s with recessed dual headlights but none like these. Early VW beetle maybe??

They almost look like early bug lights grafted in.

Not a bad look but AC coupes are so stunning stock why would anyone change them?

Man, I want a Fiat 124 coupe. Not this one, and not now, but near the top of my list for under appreciated cars.

Man that brings back memories. My first car when I was 16 was a '71 sport coupe. Learned a lot about wrenching on that thing. It was a total rust bucket but man was it fun to drive. The car was cursed though. Saved up money to fix the bodywork and get it painted after which I took it directly to a shop to have some electrical gremlins addressed. While there someone backed into it and creased the fender. On the way home from that shop a woman ran a stop sign directly in front of me and I clipped her rear corner. Tore the E36 M3 out of my front end as the bumpers weren't back on it yet from the body shop. Even better, the windshield clips weren't in place causing the windshield to launch about 20 feet. Insurance company totaled it, I bought it back and drove it around with no windshield for months until I could get my hands on another one. My parents were SO happy when I got rid of it.

So fun to drive though. Skinny tires and a big steering wheel. You could just launch it into turns and listen to them howl.

    those are definatly beetle headlights.

I agree.. a stock 124 AC is pretty enough without needing much more than some panasports and a paintjob

Italian cars are fun, but the non existent value of the less popular ones, the $1500 windshields and the massive rust make it difficult to enjoy them often on the road.

I saw this car on Craigslist yesterday as well. Thought about calling since I'm close by, but the more I looked the more dollar signs popped into my vision of doing something with it. My first thought was those are mini headlights, but maybe they are early bug or ? Either way, too much time, effort, and money to make it right for me.

That pretty much sums up why I haven't contacted the seller either, plus if I bring home another non-working vehicle I'd better be prepared to sleep in it...

That said, if anybody from further away is seriously interested, I can be convinced to have a look at it for you.

I put 40k miles on a milano so I know all about it At least other than glass that car is probably far easier to keep working though.

The worst part with the milano was (in addition to many other things) i put a $400 radiator and a $775 windshield in it, and sold it for $900 less than 6 months later because I didnt have the time to fix the massive gear oil leak and fabricate the parts to fix the heater.
