I happen to know a guy with the exact same car....and it's in a field where all lancia's end up.
Herbie's first love.

I thought herbies first love was a Scorpion/Monte Carlo
Yep, you're quite the Herbie buff. I had to google it, but it was a Scorpion.

Oh, man. I have a friend who keeps trying to convince me to come look at one that he wants to sell cheap. It has been sitting in a barn for a few years.
So sexy, but I'm scared.
Aren't these the FWD model? Or is that the same chassis as the Beta coupe

Both are correct.
Wiki says the Scorpion/MonteCarlo are rear wheel mid-engine layout. The Beta is fwd. All per Wiki.
Delusions of grandeur in an Ebay car listing. Odd.
Odd, I remember the Beta downunder as RWD, maybe they used different names in different countries.
A bit of research reveals they were all Betas downunder with subcategories for the Coupe, HPE, Scorpion etc
The Beta was the name of the platform. All Beta cars except the Scorpion/Montecarlo were FWD.
In reference to aussie's post, I though he was asking if the Zagato Spyder was FWD or the same chassis as the Beta, which is it both.

More of a Lancia buff than a Herbie buff
Wasn't this the Jeremy Clarkson Africa car as well as the Chevy Chase Modern Problems car?

Not sure about the Chevy Chase one, Clarkson's car was the same platform (Beta) but his was a Beta coupe not a Zagato.
