i'm still cleaning and found i really dont use this enough to warrant keeping it running and insured. i dont have a pic to get to from my work computer, but the one in my garage is the bike in question. it is an air cooled 600cc 4 cylinder carbed bike. no real damage except for a quarter sized tear in the seat
the good: less than 8K miles
runs
not very complicated
the bad:
less than 8K miles... so it could use a tune up and gas flushing.
smokes a little from underneath. there is a small oil leak that drops oil on the pipes as they pass under the motor. clears up after its been going a while.
gas tank filler door gasket is shot so the tank needs to be covered when it rains to avoid water contamination.
tires are original or close to it. they are in good shape tread wise, but are getting old.
it takes a little while to warm up, like 5 minutes the first time each day (being air cooled it releases heat fast) and it stalls easily before reaching running temp
it is currently registered and will continue to get occasional use until it finds a better home. i also have a new chain and crankcase side gasket that will go with the bike
i would consider a trade for an enduro style bike or cruiser style bike. i like to ride still, but have decided that my go fast days will be in a vehicle with a roof and doors from now on!
