98 Subaru Forester S with 5 speed manual

White with Gray Cloth interior. All weather package so it has heated seats and heated side mirrors.

Recent inspection 11/11, new windshield in 2011, 4 Goodyear Assurance TripleTred tires with alignment in spring of 2011 (over $600 just for tires) Rear wheel bearing and ABS sensor on passenger side done just before tires.

Well maintained car with 218,000 but need new head gaskets. Runs well but will blow out coolant from time to time. Happened twice now 1st time shop said it was thermostat. So we had that changed and engine bay cleaned 5 days later Whoosh. . .it happened again shop says its head gaskets a known problem with the 2.5lt engine. Some rust on "A" pillar (around windshield) and few other small spots but no leaks few dings etc. Rust was ground down to metal and painted with single stage auto paint and a brush, visible repair but not ugly by far. rad was replaced in 08 @ 173k. Clutch, timing belt, Timing belt tensioner, water pump were all replaced Jan of 09. Gas tank filler pipe replaced 9/10. Has A/c but bad overunning clutch bearing so belt was cut off. We are non smokers and so is the car. We have No kids so rear seat has seen only grocery bags! we have owned this car 11 years

    Easy fix for the handyman.

BEST OFFER. Should have pictures tonight if snow/ice storm doesn't interfere.

Man, I'm glad you aren't closer, but at the same time I wish you were. I had one just like that but with a slushbox. I thought it'd be GREAT with a stick.

    :satan:

And have I mentioned lately that you still have a usable OBDII EJ22 at home that some useless boob from NH hasn't picked up yet?

EDIT: you'd be passing right by my place on the way, drop by and I'll swing ya a 20 mil WRX RSB to sweeten the pot.

I'll even throw in some WRX TR springs on the way, should you want to cut 3-4" off the ride height. C'mon, head bolts and a pair of gaskets are what, $150?

    BUY IT ALREADY! Ahem... grin

I appreciate you contacting me about this. Sorry I didn't get back to you. It's not a project I can take on at this time. Good luck with the sale!

If anyone wants to try a 3.3L Forester, I've got a great SVX donor sitting around.

Oh man. If I can't do this, someone else on here should. PLEASE!

I honestly believe this is the best car/engine combo in the subaru lineup

Trailer is not a problem. I own several.

It has something to do with the 42 hours worth of round trip driving that lies between me and you.

I have no problem with long trips. I make them all the time.

It's the TIME. I can't get that much off work.

Yes still here three Craig list no shows this weekend... I'm about ready to pull the rims and the cd player and haul it to the junk yard. We've not picked upp the new car yet hopefully monday then the yard will be overfull.

What is the junkyard going to give you for it?

  • ValuePack

I'd be interested in the S alloys and new tires, if you decide to part(price dependent). Spring is coming, and I don't have a "the tundra has been thawed" set of tires for the wife's Foz yet.
