How big is the engine bay on one of those? Think you could fit a Volvo 940 Turbo motor in it?

They've been fitted with V8s (well, at least Rover V8s but that isn't a small engine), and I think the 4/5 cyl Volvo turbo swap is rather popular in Sweden.

    Tight and it's been done.

The bay is very similar to an 1800. The distance between the upper control arm mounts makes stuffing most engines a difficult task with a fair amount of firewall cutting involved.

The 7/940t engine fits, but you have to rotate the slanted engine to a conventional upright position. I stumbled across a website about some guys who sell hop-up parts for the 122 and I seem to remember them selling an adapter plate for it. Another trick is to use an adapter plate to mount a T5 to the OE bellhousing.

Theres a similar one near me for sale right now for $800, but its probably not as solid as the Atlanta example here.
