I was just wondering if anyone had a challenge friendly nitrous setup they were thinking of selling. Looking for something that I can stick on my Olds 403 and PRAY the windowed mains hold.
Though I have the Chevy 350 sitting around as well which it may end up on as well depending on which project I can bring in under budget. Not in a huge rush.

I can throw you a kit together on the cheap. Can you at least come up with a bottle? I love the Oldsmobubbles, BTW.

Gotta have a wet kit?

I can try locating a used bottle somewhere. I have a solenoid and some hose (though not sure if it will be enough) lined up. Send me an email or PM with what you are thinking. Not looking for setting up a huge hit and blow out the bottom of my engine but enough to give that extra push during the drags at the challenge. Have to run the engine with a carb unless someone happens to have a old Seville injection manifold that actually fits one of these engines. So yeah seems like a wet kit will be needed.

Amateurs don't use nitrous oxide. I've seen the way you drive, you've got a heavy foot. You'll blow yourself to pieces!

In reply to Maroon92:
I actually just watched that today. First time in YEARS that I have watched it. The latest installment is much better. Oh and I swear everyone of those movies that actually has the Charger in it they destroy it yet bring the car back for the next flick. I did like the latest rendition of it though.

Ya'll forgot the blue flames part
Anyway anyone got a bottle ("a big one no make it two")? A 10 pounder should be plenty.
I swear everytime nitrous is brought up everyone thinks of those movies though did you know it was also used in the second smokey and the bandit movie for some of the stunts?

I'll ask around......sadly I don't work at the same place I did when at college, they literally kept 10 of em filled in the shop at all times.....
Then I could have hooked you up with two of the big ones........lol
I will keep my eyes open for just bottles, but there aren't many around here running it anymore....everyone went diesel

Yeah where I live now the extent of our automotive stores is NAPA and Baxters and the ones here do not carry any go fast goodies just the run of the mill maintenance stuff.
Thanks for keepin your eyes out for me.

This is the cheapest I could find. Searched my local craigslist. 400 dollars for a kit. No stand alone tanks.

I remember you used to be able to buy just bottles through zex for under 250.....I've asked around in my circles, and so far, only 1 friend has a nx express wet kit. IDK on price though

Out of curiosity, where do you refill NOS bottles? Serious. Do they check to see it's a real NOS bottle or will a certified, stamped, safe CO2 bottle work?

Go ahead and ask him Evan thanks.
Dan I am not really sure I would think the bottles must be similar? My real question is there a difference in valves at all?

finally got the confirmation for over there and looks like it is basically a brand new polished tank so my guess is he is going to want way more than I can squeeze into my budget.
So still on the hunt for a setup.

Bottles usually go for about $100 around here. You have to be careful, though, as places that fill bottles such as Summit will not fill a bottle that is out of date. You can go to your local welder's supply store and ask if they can qualify an old one for you. In that case places like that (Summit) can fill it. You should find a low-brow speed shop that will fill your nitrous regardless. I still haven't had time to go look but I will this afternoon, man.

Around here we don't have an upper tear or low brow speed shop I would have to get the bottles filled at the same place we get my grandpas oxygen bottles.
