I think if you live in a reasonably sized city you can find 1 or 2 of these on CL every now and then. I've seen them in Memphis and here in Jacksonville, Fl. Usually they are more expensive ($1K-$1.5K), but they also aren't as rusty.

So, the engine is making noise, there are no wheels, the drive shaft is missing, the battery is dead, there's a busted rear window and a hole in the roof. Why, exactly, do I want this?

You can get those engines for $250 in the junkyard easily. They arent that impressive though, if its a late 70s one they wont even chirp the tires. lol
