1981 isuzu pup diesel 4x4 - $2000 (Monroe ) Date: 2011-09-14, 6:55AM EDT Reply to: sale-hds6x-2597833618@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?] I bought this truck from my best friends grandfather. He was a diesel nut, he held the worlds fastest diesel truck for a few years in the late 70's early 80's. The truck was a ex BOCES vocational school truck from Tennessee. Which means very minimal rust and low miles. Does have some surface rust but no frame or rust. It has a diesel with a 4spd and is 4wd. Actual miles are around 15,xxx. It has tan interior and porsche seats. I sprayed it satin apple green. Comes with stock wheels, the 14x8 rims and tires(needs to be replaced) and almost brand new 15 inch studded snow tires but no wheels. This truck did extremely well last winter and never got stuck with 4 bald tires in 4 high. The truck averages about 45-50mph city driving. Top speed with the small 14 inch tires and wheels is about 55mph. But with 15 inch wheels and higher profile it does about 75mph. This truck has alot of sentimental value to me and I really don't want to get rid of it, but I need fast cash for my vw Tdi swap. Any questions just email me. Also it has a cap if your interested. But it looks weird with it on

We had an 82 5-spd when I was a kid. It got 42mpg around town, and 40mpg at 65mph on vacations. We put a E36 M3load of miles on that little bugger and it was nothing but reliable.

    Woody,

would it be safe to assume that everywhere you have mph...you meant mpg MILES PER GALLON? I'm not sure there would be much call for a truck that does 40-50mph in a city and at best 75mph on an interstate.

Nice looking truck, tho. I came close to buying one of these (2WD, tho) back when they were new.

i had one a long time ago. Man, did I love that truck. It was free. I'm sure that was a factor.

the scripting on the front fenders where it says "P'up" is exactly the same as an Isuzu Trooper. It is not challenging to rebadge it as a "Pooper"

These were know for blowing transmissions and there were never any in the junkyard. Once I found out it was the same drivetrain in a Chevette diesel it made finding one a little easier
