I need to sell my 1981 Fiat X1/9. My wife who had been stay at home mom, is going to get a job, so I need to get something with room for my 2 kids.
I bought the car last year, and absolutely love her. The car needed some help, but after the following parts is in great mechanical shape:
Brake hoses, pads, & rotors all four corners Front struts Brake master cylinder Clutch master & slave cylinders Ignition coil (MSD Blaster2) Megasquirt EFI (programmable fuel injection & data logging) computer New tires with less than 2000 miles on them (Sumitomo HTR200, 185/60-13) Speedometer cable Alternator (converted to GM alternator, so easy to replace if it fails in a few years) Exhaust/Intake manifold gaskets Valve cover gasket metal tanked heater core USB/SD Card/MP3/CD player
The bad:
The car had a cheap respray years before I got it. The paint is not in great shape. There is rust at the base of the cowl and the front lip of the front trunk.
Drivers seat is torn.
Dash is cracked.
Dent on drivers side rear fender
Mechanically, I'm not afraid to go anywhere in the X1/9 now. I took it on a business trip to north of Austin a few weeks ago, w/out issue.
Monday I will get my camera from work and get pictures of the interior and the exterior's bad spots.
The car isn't the prettiest X1/9, but still gets lots of looks and questions. There are not many cars more fun to drive. Current registration and inspection.
