John and I simply aren't going to be able to finish the Challenge car in time for the West Coast Challenge. So instead we're going to try and sell it off to afford plane tickets to spectate.

Car: 1983 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe

Yes, it's a real 83. Silver/Black 2-tone that needs serious repaint but a good, straight body with NO rust (not even in the rear window). Has a standard TBird nose. Comes with 3.47 LSD 7.5" rear, 6 16" 87/88 TC Snowflake wheels, spare rust free doors (solid glass, no wing windows), spare hood, etc. Included is a pair of ultra-rare large fox (TBird/Cougar/MarkVII) manual seat rails (driver and passenger), manual window setup (glass, regulators, etc), tons of spare Charcoal interior (full-length center console, etc). 87/88TC rear springs, F&R sway bars. Probably a lot of stuff I'm missing. Clean title, rolls easy, keys for the doors/ignition, new WA tags.

    $500 obo?

    Suspension:

Complete tubular rear suspension for large fox (TBird/Cougar/MarkVII) from CHE with new Energy Suspension poly bushings (including front set). New in the box.

    $250 obo

    Engine: 84 302 "5.0" CFI core

It was a strong runner when pulled. Currently dis-assembled down to the short-block for a rebuild (just needs rings/bearings, doesn't even need a machine shop) and cam swap. Includes new cam (non-roller) .439/.454 AL, 258/265 AD, 115 LSA, with HO firing order from Redline Cams. Also an Edelbrock Performer RPM 4Bbl intake, new chrome valve covers, and the real goodies, a set of freshly rebuilt 86 HO Mustang heads with new springs/etc and a valve job. Also comes with complete gasket set, a giant 70's style Ford air cleaner setup, and a lot of misc spares.

$400 plus $100 for the new heavy-duty engine stand it's on.

Or, you can come by and get everything including a literal truck load of spare Turbo Coupe parts for $1250. I'm talking 87/88 TC specific noses, seats, fenders, doors, hoods, interior parts, lots and lots of goodies. We'll even throw in some TC models and a 2.3T version of the T-5 trans with bellhousing!

It's all at ThunderCougarFalconGoat's house in Bellingham, WA.

any chance you would get rid of the T-5 and the bellhousing by itself?

Absolutely! I think it needs a rebuild though...

Say, $25? Come pick it up!

(We have a V8 T5 for the car, but it's not for sale since we can use it for the RX-7's)

Boxed through FedEx shipping should be about $40.00 BTW.

that would still probably be worth it. I gotta see what I can find locally first. I may get back to you soon. (I suppose I should ask if you would even be willing to ship...are you?)

I dunno? I'll ask John, it's at his house. We're kind of hoping for somebody to turn up with a U-Haul and a trailer and make it all disappear. That price would be ridiculously cheap and there's a TON of extra stuff to sell off...

I should probably mention that John is looking for a Miata (preferably a under-loved white NA one) and is more than willing to add cash to the Challenge pile in trade for one...

You do realize we're lazy and broke, right? We still want to build a Challenge car but like you have realized that lighter IS better and so we're looking for a Miata.

Whenever we go drinking we like to take lightweights with us... we can dress them up like parade floats and take pictures of them in their Miatas ;)

Woah now fellas, I said lightweight cars, not lightweaight drivers. I'm 230 freaking pounds!

cutting torch + sub frame connectors - everything else = light fox body. every other 5.0 owner in the COUNTRY can get their fox under 2300lbs...why cant you?

its like getting to the super bowl on trick plays, going for it on 4th down, and hiding the ball in your jersey. a miata is then getting to the 'big game' and punting...you guys had something...now you wanna be like the other 400 miatas? at LEAST do the granny swap and drop in the 5.0HO and a nice C4...

You bought a HONDA and you're accusing us of being "me too" !?!?!!!

Whatever Miata John buys will not be a GRM car. Right now if we did go to any Challenge it would be a fly/drive deal (as in fly there, buy a beater, compete, and drive it home epic road trip style). We have too many projects to do locally to worry about.

i bought a queer looking OLD honda...and it FELL INTO MY LAP. and BTW, its now on jack-stands with a fried clutch...apparently, dumping the clutch from the rev limiter every single time i stopped, everywhere i went, isnt really good for stock 150k clutches....
