Almost forgot these things existed. Did they really have 2 plugs per cylinder? Anyway, price is cheap. Would be a lot of fun to mess around with.

If I remember right, when the front and back doors are open, there is no pillar between them.

I had a Stanza Coupe with that engine. The extra 4 plugs were to burn unused fuel in the exhaust in some sort of Clean Emissions system. It was weird.

    my 200sx had that too.

Maybe run a bead of JB weld around a good platinum plug?

I saw one of these 2 or 3 years ago on the outskirts of Memphis, Tn. I don't know why, but all of these wagons were painted either that light blue or light gold/beige colors.

Here's some stats in case you wanted them:

height: 64 inches...or about 10 inches taller than the sedans were.

length: only 170 inches...so about as long as a B13 Sentra.

weight: 2800 lbs...or about 500 MORE than the same sedan

horsepower....all of 98. Yet Consumer's Report describes acceleration as decent with automatic.

Depending on which spark plug is stripped, it may not really affect performance all that much.

If I remember correctly there is no pillar between the front doors, and the sliders on the wagon/vans. I may be wrong, but I remember there being something odd in that area of the car.

Sounds like it should have been flamethrowers.

Ford "adopted" this twin plug deal to their 2.3 SOHC engine in Rangers and Mustangs soon after it debutted in Nissans. I once took my Ranger in for a tune up and the mechanic neglected to connect the leads to the "second" set of plugs....when these engines run on only 4 spark plugs you know it. Seven out of eight plugs, tho? Miight not really feel the difference.

sounds like someone should turbo and megasquirt it and use the extra plugs for anti lag!

This needs to be done with video proof.
