Hi folks,
I'm having no luck finding a trailer with brakes for a grand or less. I know that budget makes it tough, but I can't go over or it blows my hole 2 year race budget.
I'm in Enterprise, AL. Anywhere in the SE would work, or between Enterprise and Troutman, NC. That's were the car I need to go get is 
Let me know if you've got one or know of one that can go at a challenge friendly price.

What do you need to carry on this trailer? You could buy a small utility trailer and add brakes for a couple hundred bucks...
If you want a dual axle auto trailer with functioning brakes for less than a grand you are gonna end up with someone's barely functional homebrew special. The cheapest even semi decent ones I've seen were around $1200 and they were older ones that used split rims, which I dislike. Keep checking craigslist though. You might be ahead just to rent one from uhaul. they have surge brakes and are pretty cheap.
I bought a 28 ft. one year old camper that took a dive. I stripped all the crap off it, shortened the frame and had a nice 19 ft. dual axle trailer with brakes on all four hubs.
Not much $$$ invested, lots of time. Sold it for $900.
Keep looking.

Edit: Maybe you can split the difference with this guy.
You can find the mobile home frame/trailers for cheap.. they typically have 3 or 4 axles, a super stout frame, and a gigantic A frame front with a 2 5/16 coupler, and usually at least one or two braking axles.
All the parts you need to make your own if youre so inclined.

Eh, it can be done. I bought mine a few years ago for $1000. 18' wood-deck dual axle with brakes on one axle, ramps that store underneath, etc. It's not fancy, but it works and it tows great. I was watching Craigslist for a while without much luck, then it occurred to me to try the message boards on the websites of various local race tracks. Milan Dragway's site turned out to be a gold mine, there were a bunch of cheap car haulers on there.
Good point. If there's a local dirt track nearby, same opportunity but even cheaper. (maybe)

Yeah, there were a few car haulers for sale in the paddock at a race at summit point that were super good deals compared to the CL stuff.
Andrave, that one you put up looks more like a mobile home trailer. The 2005 camping trailer I bought was more like a car frame, a little taller but thinner material.
Just trying to save on your transmission....
