A little birdie has given me some tentative CMP LeMons dates, and we are in desperate need of a powerplant for the ThunderTerd since we managed to murder the poor TBI 3.8. I'd like to pick up some horsepuppies at the same time so we can pass the TunaChucker Volvo instead of vice versa. I'd really like to find a mid '80's Crown Vic or similar with a TBI 5.0. Gotta be under $500.00!

Two setups here in the GRM $2008 section, a 302 and a 5 oh, pricer than you want, but a little horse trading. For some reason I also want to say the good John Brown has a setup as well.

I might have an abandoned 5.0 Mustang swap fer dirt cheap down here. I need to keep this cheap so the judges won't pile laps on us.

Went to look at the possible donor car today, it started life as a 5 speed 4 banger and now has a carbed 302 and C4. The price has been adjusted downwards accordingly. Now, if the deal can be done, we'll need a bellhousing, 5 speed box, flywheel, etc. in short everything between the crank and the driveshaft. Anybody got one cheep? Malfunctions (scraping shift, etc) are OK.

Please use a 500ci Caddy. It's really the obvious answer.

Yeah, guess for dirt cheap a 5.0 swap is the way to go. Not sure what the iron 5.3L LS blocks are available for, I recall seeing a few rather cheap...

Good luck passing us next year. I have a couple of spare B18s that we most certainly need. -Tunachucker Volvo team member...

What about LKQ there in Charleston? The last time I visited, engine prices seemed reasonable at just a couple hundred bucks.
