Ok...The title starts the thoughts. But I am not looking for a mini van with 10K McD wrapers and all kinds of things growing on the inside!!!

I am looking for a car, with a cool/interesting back half. Things that come to mind, early corvair, 59 chevy, late 50's early 60's Chrsylers...etc.

I am looking to take the back half, section it, and make it into a t-bucket tub! So the lowers, and frame can be all rotted.

Does anyone have something like this, lets say within an hour or so drive of Ann Arbor/Ypsi? And do I really need to add to this.......CHEAP!

Yes you do, but it isn't what I would call cheap, and I am really just looking for the back half of the car. If you are willing to substancially drop your price, I would consider it. But I am really looking for a more picked over car that is on the way to the crusher

I guess there are no scrapyards in your area that keep anything old enough to meet your needs so you could just go cut the back off one?

We have one out here in NJ with plenty from the 50s on up to pick over but that's a bit of a trip to make for 1/2 a car ;)

How about a '68 Renault R10? It certainly qualifies as "funky" MI Renault Or maybe a Fiero GT?

'59 Chebies are not in your price range, but someone posted a '62 Falcon wagon for $1k.

There's an old yard near me, old the key word. If the keepers let me out I'll take some pictures for you.
