This is a pair of rear wheel drive Toyota Corollas. The ’83 is a 4 door sedan that has a bad engine and automatic transmission in it. The body is in reasonable shape and the interior is pretty nice. Along with this car comes a 3TC engine and 5 speed transmission. What is unique about the ’83 is that it came with the “A” series engine. Therefore, it’s ready for a 4AGE engine to drop in. Or…it’s a pretty easy conversion to the 3TC (thus the reason I have one, ready to put in). This car has A/C. When I bought it two years ago, the A/C actually worked. I would not vouch for it today, however. Here's the '83:

The ’82 Wagon runs and drives fine. I’ve been driving this daily for 2+ years now. It has been incredibly reliable and silly-cheap to maintain. The body looks pretty rough and the tail lights aren’t working. It’s a 5 speed and did not come with a/c from the factory. It is currently equipped with 14x8” wheels from a Celica GTS and 195/60/14 tires in very good shape with plenty of tread (I’ve been driving on them about a year). See it here in my readers rides: http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/reader-rides/715/ . Or...this is it:

Ideally, I’d like to trade this package for something to drive daily with 3+ seats (no miata or mr2 ). Rear drive is pretty important to me. I like V8 power, but since it’s a daily driver, I’m looking for reasonable fuel mileage (mpg in the 20s, minimum). At the top of my list today, are: E30, P71, 240SX, ACVW, 924/944, Cherokee, Subaru, etc. I realize a trade is a longshot. I’d also consider selling the package outright. Does $1,500 sound fair? I'd have to have a daily driver lined up, I suppose...lol.

    Thanks for looking,
    Clem

Beautiful... Tough to find these cars nowadays in decent condition.

GL with the sale, where are you located? I remember the sedan was posted before.

Sorry about that lack of location...

The cars are located in or about Columbia, Missouri. Midway between KC and STL.

I've actually thought that either one would be a fun challenge car. I'm just looking for something different. I get into project ruts and sometimes just need to clear out and start over...

What kind of rust is there on the wagon? I have a nice black '82 Supra P-type I'd be willing to work a deal over...

They each have rust...for sure. The funny thing about these cars (TE/AE chassis in general, that is) is that the rust doesn't seem to be structural, in my experience.

The wagon has rust in the doors and the quarters, mostly. I can try to get some photos to show you.

The hatch was bent-up when I got it...

It would make a good beater, but unless you're a body whiz...it doesn't have much in it past that.

    The Supra sounds interesting...

If you could get some photos, that'd be great.

The Supra is a black '82 P-type 5-speed, first model year of the MkII. 121k miles. I rescued it from some kid up north who had the distributor 180* out and thought it was a bad fuel pump. Some rust but nothing too ridiculous. Issues, all of which I'm working on day-by-day, is that the car seems to run a little hotter than usual (never overheats, I suspect it's the radiator that's missing 1/4 of its fins), the blower motor is flaky (suspected bad ground, have been playing with this all week), and there's some mild lifter tick, which I hope to cure with fresh oil and a quart of MMO on Friday. Runs and drives very well, but feels like it could use brakes and some Redline gear oil.

I'll try to get some this afternoon after work. They won't be great because it'll be getting dark by then...and it snowed today so the car is dirtier than usual, I'm sure ;). It's all of about 10 degrees out there and it started right up...as always.

That's the one pic of the Supra I have right now. I'll get more. Would you be willing to put some cash on the wagon in exchange for the Supra? I should have most everything fixed pretty soon.
