I was pretty certain that in Mass if the car is 15 years or older you don't need a title, just like Maine and also New Hampshire.

I bet vermont doesn't even have the word "title" in their legislation.

When I lived in NY you could get a title for a car if you bought it in NH and it didn't come with one due to it's age. I did this for a 1989 CRX back in 2006 or 2007. Just needed a bill of sale and insurance.

Actually yes, that's how it works. In Maine we don't have titles for cars that are 15 years or older. I sold a civic to someone from NY and they just needed a bill of sale and a piece of paper from the state that said I was the rightful owner of the car.

Didn't know that about Maine. However, Mass. law requires titles for any MY1980 car or newer for it to be street legal, no exceptions. I tried buying a non-titled NH car from a friend once and after 2 months he still couldn't get a hold of one. Dunno if things are different now, but from my experience it's too much effort to get a hold of a title.

You can't do it without the explicit statement from the state that they don't issue titles to vehicles of that vintage. Most people don't know about this, and thus end up thinking they can't buy the car.

If a car is registered in a state there is always a painless way to sell it to someone in another state.

Otherwise, no one would be able to move from Alabama to most other states. (I think it's Alabama that doesn't issue any titles for any vehicle)

Yeah, that tank was too much effort to clean, but I am totally sure the engine swap went fine.

Looks decently clean... i'd pay $1000 for it with the knowledge that i might be putting a non-borked motor in it myself.
