    not mine, on ebay

Reluctantly offered for sale is my 1984 Rabbit GTI Improved Touring "B" class race car. This car was purchased from the original owner in 2002 and has been in the south since then.

Originally a Michigan car, there is some rust perforation on the passenger side rear fender well and some rust forming on the rear hatch. These are the only two problem-rust areas on the car.

The car was converted to SCCA ITB duty in 1994 at around 45K miles. I have the SCCA logbook for the car which chronicles every race entered since 1994. This car has a current SCCA Road Race/ Time Trials Annual Inspection, good through October 2011. Being a race car, there is a higher risk of crash damage- and yes, it was wrecked on 2 September 2006 at the SAARC race at Nashville Super Speedway. The engine was removed and frame repair was carried out by "The Hot Rod Shop" in Huntsville. The frame was pulled to factory spec and seam welded. The car was re-inspected for annual SCCA tech on 26 April 2007 and passed. To indicate how minor the crash damage was, please note that every body panel on the car is original. No body panels had to be replaced after the wreck. Any flaws on the car will be showcased in the photos.

    Now to the details:
Sprayed flash red in 1994. 1.8L 8 valve engine, precision built with TechTonics head, TechTonics long tube header Carrera coilovers with HyperCoils springs Mobil 1 Synthetic Oil since DAY ONE. No joke. Synthetic oil only since 1984! Delrin control arm bushings Poly motor mounts Brand new OE factory GTI exhaust- not the best flow for an IT car, but new and correct. Carrera Camber plates AutoPower (full) bolt-in rollcage with ITB required "second" doorbars added. This is NOT a street car. Other items include: brake bias valve, AutoMeter tachometer, LTB MotorSports quick-release steering wheel hub, MOMO steering wheel, IO Port Camera mount, G-Force Pro-Series camlock 6-point harness- FIA rated, good through 2013, Ultra Shield pro seat.
There is no wiring harness for the turn signals currently- turns not needed for IT racing. All other lights (and wipers) work. If the turns were wired, this would be a street legal car (depending what state you live in of course).
All aspects of the car function properly. If something was broken- I fixed it. New items in the last month:
Windshield, wheel bearings at all four corners, Brakes at all four corners, Bosch Fuel Pump.
The 13" OZ MSW gold mesh wheels (pictured) will come with the car. Sorry, no other wheels are included in this auction- the gold OZ wheels only. There is a ton of information on this car, waaay to much to squeeze here. If you have any questions please ask. I am happy to help. This is a great car. I want you to know everything about it.

$500 deposit is due within 48 hours of auction end, and full payment is due within 7 days of auction end. If full payment is not received within 7 days of auctions end, I reserve the right to offer/sell this vehicle to another buyer. This auction is a legally binding contract.
