Hey guys, looking to get a replacement engine for my '91 DD/beater. Prefer to stay within the 1.6 for AX class rules, and something cheap to stay within grad school budget. Not shy of an engine requiring a mild rebuild (I'd like the experience!) but happy to avoid work I'd need to outsource.

    Thanks!

Oh, and I've got a '99 1.8 short block I'd be happy to trade towards it if you're thinking about swapping up in displacement.

if nobody responds call flying miata...they pull enough of them out when doing v8 conversions. I am sure they will have just what you need.

I have one available. But It is in Cleveland, OH. Probably too far to be worth the effort. 114K miles on engine, still in the car so you could hear it run. Also have transmission.

I also have one in Ashland, OH with 114k on it. It is still in the car but I am going to swap it soon (hopefully).

I'll be driving up to NJ for Christmas, so I'd be interested in anything along that general route as long as it can wait a month.

Otherwise, I can pick up in the Atlanta area right now

    Thanks!

Good news! My younger brother is now living at home, and has plenty of time to go engine hunting for me! Now expanding search to the NY/NJ area.

Still haven't found an engine requiring less than an 8 hour drive, though...let me know if you've got one!

Oddly enough, we're converting more Mazdaspeeds than anything else. I think the next three are MSMs as was the most recent. I've grabbed the 18k motor from one of them for Janel's car.

The engine was used in other applications of course.

I have a couple reasonably priced good to excellent running big nose crank 1.6 motors in the ATL as well as at least one build-able long block that ran before pulled. Nothing in the give away or stupidly cheap ass category though. Engines retain a certain menial value and thats just how it is.

I have a short nose motor in Charlotte, NC. Missing coil pack, idle control and some various stuff. I have never run the engine but it appears to be left alone, stock, and is all there. Came with a spec car purchase as an extra.

Yours for $100 if you want it.

I have a complete 1.6 sitting here. Would trade for the 1.8 short block. Located in Plant City, Florida(near Tampa 33567). Let me know if you are interested. Don't know anything about the motor as I acquired it in a trade so I would say rebuild it. email me at unk577@yahoo.com
