Since you have a rack there would you mind getting me some basic dimensions? Been looking at different racks for the Wartburg buildup and that is one of the front runners but I havent been able to get dimensions

Thanks, but my budget is more in the "non-rebuilt Super Beetle" or the "torched out of the rusted remains of a 1.7 914" range.

I've got two Super Beetle steering racks, both still in the cars. One is in a '75 convertible and the other in a '78.

$100 if you take it out yourself...or, I'll give you one for free if you remove both of them (that way I don't have to take the one I need for my project car out myself - it's not a fun job).

Rockauto has a refurb'ed 1977 Mercury Capri manual rack for $138 or so. I can give you dimensions later this evening if you're interested.
