    Good Day!

I am looking for a posi unit to put in my 2.73 chevy 10 bolt (7.5 inch) rearend. This is an older open rearend.

Let me know what ya got!

    Thanks!

    Rob R.

P.S. It is for a 1978 Chevy Malibu.

    Are you sure it's a 7.5 not a 7.625? I think the 7.5 is Vega / Monza.

from looking at part codes recently for my car (3rd gen F body)i think a 7.5 housing would fit in a 7.625 either way.

Yeah, I used to have a new posi unit for a Monza 7.5". Pretty rare piece. But I sold it.

The g body rears are 7.5 inches. You can fit the 7.625 or 7.5 inch rear in the same housing.

I need a series II 7.5" rear LSD carrier.

Vega/Monza is a 6.5" ring gear for the lesser powered cars. In 1975 you could get a Vega/Monza with a 7.5 as an option.

    7.5's are in S10's, F-bodies, and G bodies.

A 28 spline is best, if you can choose between the 26 and 28. The 26 spline LSD's are harder to find. The 28 spline axles are stronger.

My car is a 26 spline.

I have 2 rearends. One is on the car and has 3.43 gears and an LSD. I would like to put in my 2.73 rearend. The problem is it is an open rearend.

The series 3 carrier (the LSD I have) won't fit in the series 2 housing.

Anybody got an old S10 lying around and they don't want the lsd?
