So my headlight switch fried on my '84 944, and when it went it melted the plug and a few wires at the same time. If there is anyone that is parting one out, I need the headlight switch with the plug, with 6"-12" of wire on it. I've got an extra switch somewhere around here, so even if your switch is already gone, I'll take the plug with some wire! Help, I have no headlights, and really don't want to have to start driving an Escort again!

Thanks! This was the worst weekend for the switch to fry. The switch fried on Saturday night, the time changed Sunday, and now it gets dark at 5 instead of 6 around here. I work monday through friday until 5. Last night was a sketchy drive home. I think I'll have to rig something up for tonight.

So I found my extra switch (I actually had TWO extras!), so I have headlights again! The bad part is when the switch fried, it melted the insulation off of a few of the wires, so I need a pigtail. They're wrapped in electrical tape right now, but I'd like to fix it right before I forget about it and my temporary fix turns into a permanent one, and something else melts. So anyway, Patrick, if you still have that wiring laying around and could snip the plug off with a foot or so of wiring, I'd love you forever. Well, I do anyway but you know what I mean.

Well a friend found a pigtail at a louisville u-pull yard yesterday, but last night I noticed that the plug going to the headlight motor is melted, so now I need that pigtail too. I think the headlight motor relay shorted out, causing all kinds of problems. Oh well, at least I can drive at night now, even if the headlights stay up all the time.
