After reading a few threads on the awesomeness of these motors, I decided I want one or my next project. The problem is, everywhere I look, they are a lot more money than people mention paying for them. I'm located in Ontario Canada, about 1 hour from buffalo and 2.5 from Detroit. I would drive about 4 hours one way for something decent. I also have a shipping address with loading dock at 14092. I want something complete, so I don't have to go chasing after a sensor or accessories. I don't need cats. Anyone know of anything or have anything? I'm also open to a 5.3...

Try searching with this: say....Silverado 1999 up?. The expensive low mileage, late year, etc. show up on top. The bargins toward the back. I call and haggle on the price too

    I bought a running 5.3l (with computer/harness, but no alternator/starter) 160k miles for $100 US.

    HTH!

Is it true that the 4l60e has a 11-14 quart oil capacity? That's like $100 of transmission fluid!
