Thanks.
Hope it's the right one. I'm basing off a post from 2006, in swedish:

He's talking about a Mercruiser marine build I saw in amagazine the same issue he did. I didn't buy the mag, but I do have a Kaase boss9 head and a 4.2L 4 cyl short block in pieces.
Best of everything- Manley rods, Diamond pistons, carbide faced Shuebeck lifters, Lunati cam, offset ground crank, etc.
Figured for sentimental reasons I should have a copy of the mag that however long ago inspired this lunacy... :)
they are still fooling around ... I am getting mails from automated email program that doesn't accept replies. The latest is it's on a 30 day back order. Do they actually reprint things like this? I assumed they would haul a certain number of unsold items to an area with cheap storage costs and haul down and send out what I need as orderes trickled in. Maybe I'm out of date- does it make more sense to reprint to request now?. Even more annoying is that there is no way to communicate with them. All reply emails are refused. I am going to try from my work address, as they seem to refuse to accept (554 error I think it was?) emails from yahoo or hotmail
The 3.7L Mercruiser is the one I think you want. It's the half of a 460 that all the 460 stuff bolts to. The only problem with the all aluminum block is that I think it lacks bearings for some critical components. Not a big deal to machine the room to accept them though if you know someone who can do it.
Talk about a torque monster!!!! Boost that thing too!!
uh did you read post 3?
Also no boost on those blocks- die cast, somewhat fragile...
Anyway, here's what a modern race version looks like. Not much OE left in it. Cylidners machined out and massive sleeves inserted, then filled besides. A pure custom, from-billet crank - & camshaft, too. Dry sump, up to date Prostock head with completely different valve positions, etc etc. http://www.competitionplus.com/drag-racing/news/18820-neff-and-his-little-racecar-...
