    thanks,

    Mike,

Hit up Cliff and Lee Sebring. Last I heard, Lee was going to sell off a MS he picked up and never used.

Was ran for awhile on my TT 5.0

also have a relay board (assembled) and a complete relay cable.

I will include the serial to usb adapter, stimilator and all the extra components i have for it.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v114/Fra.../DSC00002-1.jpg relay cable not pictured but included

will do trades for a drop in roller cam for a 2.3 and an adjustible cam gear. I will consider trades for other performance parts 2.3 or merkur related. I have a Ranger Roller cam . I can't find the adjustable gear, though. Interested?

    $350 shipped.

I will contact them with your info if you are interested.

    A. I hate carbs (because i'm clueless about semi-controlled fuel leaks). I can only get this thing to run w/ the choke on. I've rebuilt and fiddled w/ the carbs and I give up. I was about to give in and pay a local guy to get it running. Then realized that for similar $$ i could try MSefi.

    B. I've always wanted to MS -something-

    C. I plan to turbocharge it and go after the 400cc land-speed records at Maxton (@ 130mph in the blown/fuel class)

    D. I was going to buy another bike for Maxton use. But i've already got this one. And it was free...

    E. I'm a glutton for punishment. (see screenname)

what all do you need to convert a bike to MSEFI, assuming you started with a carbed bike.

Power gain from carb to EFI?

It's called comfort zones and "WHY THE @#$@# NOT?" it was free! let the man do as he wishes with his money pit! I had Nitrous on a GEO at one point, and when asked why??? my answer was "Because I CAN!" lol

Seriously there's prob not a whole lot of performance to be gained, but if he's comfortable turbo'n a EFI system vs a carb, so be it.

Thanks for defending me, Spinout, but I don't think CarKid was on the attack. Just curious I'd guess...

I've heard anywhere from 5-15% gains, but thats usually quoted for auto engines. I don't expect much from the conversion alone. I just understand FI better than carbs. and when i go to turbo it, its A LOT easier to hook up the laptop and tweak than it is to remove/tweak/replace;remove/tweak/replace;repeat with the carbs.

What do i need? according to MSefi.com:

In order to make the MegaSquirt® controller work on YOUR car, boat, chainsaw, or whatever, you will need:

    * Tools and ability to assemble and test an electronic printed circuit board,
    * Additional parts to suit your installation, including:
o Coolant and air temperature sensors,
o Oxygen sensor and bung is highly recommended (either narrow-band or wide-band),
o Wiring and various connectors for the sensors, injectors, etc.,
          o Injectors and bungs/manifold,
          o Throttle body,
o High pressure fuel pump and supply/return lines, and a
          o Fuel pressure regulator,
    * Tools and ability to cut the aluminum case end-plates for connectors and LEDs,
    * Knowledge and skills to install all of the necessary sensors and wiring,
    * Knowledge and experience to be able install or adapt a complete high-pressure fuel system in your vehicle for MegaSquirt® EFI Controller,
    * Windows 95 (or better) laptop computer with a serial port to configure and tune your MegaSquirt® EFI Controller, and
    * Enough mechanical aptitude to know what to do to make the engine run right.

hmmm.....you got me thinking land speed records. 130MPH

Mike, it really is a lot easier than it looks. Just buy the kit (I've NEVER seen a used, assembled ecu sell for less than you can buy a new one and build it). If you have a soldering iron and can read, you'll be fine. Get a set of ITBs off ebay, buy the kit, and get soldering/wiring! Go to junkyards to get the misc. stuff and you should have it running for less than $300. That's pretty much what I did with the Rabbit. I had no idea what I was doing, just jumped in with both feet and did it.

Theres an assembled one on CL for $75. Not a very confidence inspiring ad, tho, so i'll probably stay away. There's also one on e30tech. MS1 and JimStim for $180. I'm gonna offer $150. If he doesn't go for that, i'll purchase a kit and start solderin'

I just got a package deal on an assembed but unused MS, stim and relay board. Anybody need a stim and relay board? Money goes back into the challenge budget...

Damn, I guess they are out there. I looked for a while before I bought mine, and everything I found was at least $50 more for a used assembled unit.

Just a crazy thought- Would MS work for a 2 stroke outboard motor?

Be sure your electrical system can handle the extra load. That was probably the hardest part of MS'ing Dr.Linda's Sportster. Ran out of Amps.

Just scored a MS setup on eBay for $157. I think its a v2.2 board w/ the daughter board (MSextra?, MS&S?) plus the MegaStim board.

I've started a thread in the sprockets forum. I've got a question about my throttle bodies, so check out the thread if you have any MS knowledge:
