Like it says, I'm looking for a turbo mani for an 8v VW motor, non crossflow. It's for a challenger, so price is important. if you're looking to trade parts lemme know what you're looking for I'll see what I can dig up.

I like where this is going. Can I drive the car in October?

If it helps your search, there's no difference between a manifold for a crossflow and a for counterflow.

So what you're saying is a 1.8T mani will work on an old 8V?

Nope. It still has to be an 8v, it just doesn't matter which one.

Did I once read a TDI manifold will also fit a 8V head?

You probably did, but I haven't been keeping close tabs on you lately.

Yeah, every TDI mani I've found seems to be priced like they are unobtainium. 150-200 for an iron, half the time cracked, manifold. Trying to stay under a grand on this car, depending on where I can source a mani for it, I think I can turbo this thing and stay in that budget. I really don't' want to hack up the header on this thing to fab my own, but I will if it comes down to that.

The old diesel manifolds would fit an 8v, so I would imagine the TDI manifolds would fit as well.

Or if I wanted to be a smart-ass: "The TDI is an 8v, dip$hit!"

I would respond "I don't speak VW, but those that do pay me to get them fixed."... :)
