$1500 for that with no title seems a bit overpriced.

sure is and I would love to see a Ford 2.3 turbo swap into one of these

I am happy that it doesn't have a title, else I'd be kicking myself for wasting my money on buying a new sensible car. I'd LOVE to have one of those Capris, almost as much as I'd love to have an Escort.

2.3 Turbo? Bah. 2.3 Duratec. MUCH lighter engine, and make silly power nonturbo. There's my rallycross dream car.

(well, RWD rallycross dream car. Actual rallycross dream car is some early 80s FWD E36 M3box with excessive mid-engined AWD power, because putting more than 200hp down through two wheels is difficult. We're still working on the details for that one.)

I was going to put a Zetec in my '77 Capri. It would have bolted to the transmission with only minor work... sold it for $500 but it didn't have a title either. Mine was drivable, too.

You and ME BOTH ! ! !

I have a complete Capri drive train in sweet condition, no car as yet, and I'm trying my best to talk a friend into selling me his old '84 Escort. I LOVE that old original body style. Just might try to marry the two if/when.

The small stuff from the late 70's and early 80's just stupidly appeals to me . . . like to find a reasonably cheap Chevette close enough for a pick-up one day.

Wrong Escort.

Capri was a longer Escort.

Coincidentally enough, you have a Miata with an open engine bay.

Spare 4 speed and stock rims could be useful. Is this the same gearbox as the 2600 version.

Do you have a stock pedal box?

What I can't see is $1500 worth of car. I am a multi Capri owner going back to 1974 when I got my first one new so I know the value of these cars. This is nothing more then a rolling shell with boxes of parts and an engine that will require disassembly and a re-gasketing at the very least, add in a paint job, and there are no pictures of the interior so what's that like?

I just love people that start a project, take a car apart and then expect to get anything close to the full value of the same car that was at least whole if not running. This is worth no more then $700 and maybe less depending on the condition of the interior.

It's Cleveland. Anything that old is instantly worth at least 2-3x what it's worth in the rest of the country, no matter the condition.

For example, that GTI that I bought last spring? There was a similar one up here soon after I bought it, also nonrunning with poor interior, and it was listed for $2500 but the ad was only up for a week.

So, I'd definitely pay $1500 for a shell that clean and straight, IF it had a title. The bitch would be finding parts, I've never seen a Capri up here. Ever.

Norm @ Team Blitz is the best. He has been a great source of technical information and parts for my '77 Capri Improved Touring restoration.
