This makes me sad. I had a rust free 78 318/833 OD wagon that got stolen from my storage lot about 3 years ago.  Still hurts to think about...

Glad I'm not in GA anymore, I'd buy this in a second - all the factory air looks like it's still there too!

Never seen one with a 4-speed. Have only seen AT or 3-speed manual. The 3-speed usually with the slant-6.

Anyone know how strong that 4-speed is? Is it the same one they used behind the  /6?

Better yet, someone buy this so I can also stop thinking about it...

It's probably the A-833OD, right?  If so, decently tough, although the front bearing is kind of small from what I remember reading about these things.

Lots of things you can do to make them stronger.

In reply to stan :

Plenty strong, and yes.  It's basically an aluminum case 833, but it's not quite as tough.  Will hold up fine behind a small block.  Gear ratios are widely spaced though.

In reply to psteav :

Gear ratios WIDELY spaced indeed.  They took a regular non overdrive 4 speed, made 3rd gear an overdrive gear, then flipped the 3-4 lever over.  So 3rd gear is 1:1, like a 3 speed.
