All-wheel drive, turbo power and a Q-ship’s stealth.
It's time for someone else to take on this project. I bought this car from this forum 6 years ago and have not done a whole lot with it. Built on an early 1979 ('78 build date) no-sunroof straight non-rusted tub (the lightest tub of any of the first-gen cars) that was completely stripped of all undercoating, interior, and sound-deadening.
Fiberglass widebody kit
The engine has the following modifications:
13b bridgeport with a Weber 48IDA carb on a racingbeat intake
Full racingbeat dual exhaust with stainless muffler. (it's loud)
New starter from a later model (I don't remember the year but it's the lightest starter made)
Braided steel lines from the fuel cell to the carb. The car had two fuel pumps when I got it (one at the tank and one close to the carb) I took the one out under the hood and connected the fuel regulator to the carb with regular fuel line but I have the braided lines.
RCI fuel cell
New holley fuel pump (it's been on the car 5 years, but hardly used)
The suspension is all new, with over $3600 spent on suspension parts including:
Adjustable Tokico Illumina shocks/struts
New ball joints, bushings, rod ends etc.
Front suspension lowering kit
Hawk race brake pads, fresh brake fluid
Moroso 1/2" wheel studs
'85 GSL SE disc brake rearend with Torsen diff (like new)
15" x 9" Revolutions
Braided stainless brake, fuel, and oil lines throughout
KIrkey aluminum seat and 5 point harness
Big tach and some other guages.
What does this car need? The 13b smokes after it warms up so I'm guessing it needs oil control rings. The roll bar in the car is a piece of garbage and needs to come out or have a competent cage builder look at it and finish it. All that is in the car is a hoop at this time. The passenger side front fiberglass is needs some attention. Slight surface rust on bottom of doors and underside.
I'm asking $2000.00 and it's located in Kenner, LA near the New Orleans airport. Reply to: deathvalleydiehard AT yahoo.com
Wow I need that like a hole in the head. that would be one seriously fun 7.
What's the VIN and production date? I have a 78 build date car as well, and love the early cars more than any other. I want to build a race car as well. Why do you have to be so far away? I imagine it wouldn't be a car you could drive long distance.
you wanna trade that for my z car AND my soul?
You want a SAAB with a slush box
Drool even as is, good luck with the sale!
This with a v8 swap would be bad ass, to bad your on the other side of the country and i'm broke at the moment but GLWS
Thanks for the trade offers but I have too many projects as it is. I had planned on swapping in a 5.0 and T-5 but lost the ambition to finish this project. I am willing to take offers or make a package deal with the trailer I have listed on here. By the way, it does run and is fast as hell. It just smokes on full throttle after it warms up.
I lowered the price on my own personal albatross... $1000 takes it.The 15" Revolutions are worth half of that alone. I don't want to part it out because I'm extremely lazy. Come get it. do with it as you will, just don't tell me about it later...
first born??? geez challenge car brilliance right there!!!
Does it run well enough to get on a shippers trailer?
I sent you email
Man, I hate my life. I love this.
Mazdax605: To be honest, I have not started it in over a year. With a little ATF, starter fluid, 2 cycle oil, gas, new battery, and a couple of hours; yes it will run to get on a trailer. I bet this car does not weigh more than 1700 pounds so pushing and use of a come-along it will go on a trailer.
Cutter67: I will call you tomorrow.
All others: This would go nicely with it: Winston's 5.0 & T-5 just 4 hours away from the RX7
Come get it today for $1000.00. I want this thing gone.
1600 miles round trip.
Do you have a title for it? How quickly do you need it moved.
Did this used to be White?
If so I'm 90% certain I know a previous owner.
It would go remarkably well with this. Eight hours away, and the family likes New Orleans. PMing for phone number...
My life is genuinely not complete by not owning this
If you got it running I would pick it up on my way to the challenge and run it.
I'm probably going to have $2000 into rebuilding my FB, I should just buy this and open up the flares enough for rally tires to fit.
Thank God you are too far away, or this would be at the Compound now
Soo much want! and I've even got an excuse to goto New Orleans first week of Dec... ugh.. someone wanna buy my teg so I can torture myself with magic spinning triangles?
Sent a PM, but in case you didn't get it, call me at 469 eight seven seven C A R S.
