That looks like a 440 2-stroke? Sort of like an Formula 500 (440) before such a thing existed.
One issue with reworking it for autocross or hillclimb is being a midget car, it's probably designed to only turn left. While sideways.

When you only turn by drifting left it just makes the right turns more impressive.
