$750 is a bit crack pipey for a non running car that was left in gear due to flat tow.. but bet you could get it cheaper and have a good machine.

Left it in first gear! How would you not notice?
Crazy drag on the tow vehicle (engine braking in first gear), and when you got over 35 mph and were dragging the poor Volvo at 8000rpm and floating valves and mashing them into pistons I'm sure the rear axle would've started to jump.
Dunno how far or fast he drove, but I bet that motor is toast. Dunno how the trans would handle that either.
