More proof that rare doesn't necessarily equate to desirable.

That is quite possibly the only (1 of 8) cars you can buy for $1500.

Actually looks to be in quite nice condition. I bet a good detail would have that thing "aftermarket" fresh.

Probably would be an excellent choice for concours d'lemons.

Wowsers ! Bug-eye greatness right there.

I had no idea these things existed.

Neither did I, but at least I knew about the EXP. What that showed up on Obscure Cars on FB a few days ago, some of those young whippersnappers had never even heard of the Escort's sexy sibling!

I always thought the EXP looked like the illegitimate offspring of a Ford GT and a Bugeye Sprite. Funny that it was so ugly, since styling was really the only reason for it to exist apart from the Escort. But I kind of like this one. From the back it looks like a little Mustang convertible.

Nothing say "right choice for a convertible" quite like black vinyl seats.
No, that won't be hot at all on a sunny summer day.

I remember one of my moms' friends getting one after her divorce in 1983 or so. I rode to lunch with them in the back. No back seat, of course, just a parcel shelf where the back seat was supposed to go. Even at that tender young age, it seemed silly to me that that car didn't have one since the car it was based on did and it really didn't have any less room or anything.

Simpler times.

Ah now that brings back memories, my first car was an 82 EXP, I later had an 86 sport model. It was the CRX before the crx, admittedly not as good but I loved both of mine.
