Someone, at some point, thought this was a good idea.

Not mine, and zero affiliation.  smiley

I’m assuming it didn’t start life as a truck? It looks surprisingly well done if so.

I'm guessing that this one used to be a station wagon in the dim and distant past.

I mean it's like an actual pickup truck just with none of the utility and Italian reliability.

I think it was the shag carpet "bedliner" that probably put me over the edge.  laugh

My buddy Sarisongroup had an uncle that had three mid-70s Fiats.  Usually he could get one of them to start so he could get to work, but it was never the same one.

No title...no problem.  wink

One of these days I'll buy a title-free car on the cheap (because no title) and see if the "hack" above actually works.

Is anyone going to mention the fact that the "uprights" on the "roll bar" are nowhere near parallel to each other?

At least the price seems appropriate for what it is.

I think it started as a 128 wagon, a Unibody car.  I'm a verified whack job, but I like it.

I had someone ask me if I would do such a thing to a Fox body Mustang this week.  I was on board until they said that they wanted a working tailgate. Also told him to check with the insurance company before first cut.

Edit:  Turns out it is a thing

Always wanted to do that to a Metro and got very close in the mid 2000's when I couldn't find a decent used small pickup.

But that has the whole Ute vibe nailed.  I’d rock it.

I'm about the furthest thing from a mustang guy but I'd drive the wheels off that thing!

Good because those are REALLY ugly wheels.

Bingo!  My brother had one, same color.  This picture probably runs better than his ever did.  BTW, I had 124 coupe at the same time.  Both were nice to look at.  That was about it.

That metro kind of reminds me of a Suzuki Mighty Boy, but the metro would be the more useful hauler.
