Along with the Ferrari, Lambo, and Lotus I think they should have also included the Maserati Merak SS. Dollar wise they fall inbetween the Lotus and the prancing horse. They are better built and appointed than either. The later ones come without the Citroen hydraulics and are fairly straight forward to maintain. Thery come with a none to shabby set of specifications, - 90 degree 3ltr. V6 with timing chains, dual overhead cams, 3 webers, mid engine and a shape designed by the master himself. Now THAT sort of ticks most of the exotic car boxes, eh! Yes, they do not have quite the speed or the spec as the other exotics, not a V8, no turbo, but I know from experience they will keep pace with the Lamborghini Jalpa on a slightly dubiously leagal and rather quick rally which covered an assortment of twisty country roads. I believe a total production run of about 1,700 over 10 or so years, (the last two in Europe only). You just don't see many on the road these days.
