The wait is almost over. We're ready to release our second generation of plug and play, tunable engine management. There's going to be five models in the initial release, covering the following cars:

I'm so sick and tired of people talking down on Megasquirt like it's a poorly executed system. It makes me very frustrated.

Yesterday someone told me that MS was a bad system because it had no support. I bet Matt would have something to say about that. I can't imagine the amount of support they give out on such a complex system.

We're planning to have a formal program where an enthusiast community can get together a group of interested people willing to put down a deposit to get a batch of MSPNPs made to order for cars not on the list - as well as, of course, building more MSPNPs where the demand is obviously there. We will need to make sure of a couple technical issues first, like whether we have the connector on hand or have a good source for them.

Pardon my noobism, but it seems most are obd1? As in, (specifically to me) the SR20 engine family - I have the Non roller-rocker OBD2 version in my 99 Infiniti - If I wanted to swap that engine into a locost or another type of car, theres no PNP support (not that Im upset, more just curious). Im not really a potential customer yet, but I think I probably will be sooner rather than later. I guess I really need to read the megamanual info thats out there...

Just how things shook out; we had to start somewhere. As a racing ECU, the MSPNP isn't OBD anything. Many manufacturers changed their ECU pinout when they went OBD2, however, requiring separate MSPNP models for OBD1 and OBD2 cars. There are MSPNPs that fit OBD2 cars on our to-do list.

MSPNPs are for reusing the stock wiring harness - I'm not sure how much of it you'd want to bring over to a Locost. If you wanted to use the complete stock harness, you would be able to use an MSPNP built for that car if we had one. If you wanted to make a new harness, you'd use a more generic MegaSquirt.

It's a total redesign. Gen 2 is based on MS2 and has sequential injection capability as well as a lot of new features. And yes, there will be a '96-'97 Miata version.
