Gonna go for a drive tonight after work.

Well, that was a short drive.

Just around the loop.

Seat stopped moving

Charge ac after reconnecting line and adding oil

Adjust clutch

Check tire pressure

Mount coil permanently

Firewall wiring pass through

Ill chip away after the garage is clean again.

So what we are saying is the Neon in the back does better burnouts?

In reply to Professor_Brap :

Dunno. Haven't tried one in it.

But the truck under the carport does FANTASTIC burnouts .

Oh, mark the coil off the list.

Glad to see it back up and driving. Hopefully close to a lot of leisure enjoyment with not a lot of work!

Thanks Brent!

Tonight, I'll adjust the clutch and get the hardware for the firewall plate. Maybe get those knocked out around the lathe stand rebuild and wall repair.

Back in the workbay. Time to finally finish it.

Anyone willing to come over for a weekend and help me do drivability tuning with the megasquirt?

this comment made me go back to the start of this thread, and i opened the forabodiesonly.com thread which led me to this tidbit:

also, i shimmed the weatherstripping using some double sided moulding tape i had left over from my s10. little 1/8 thick tape made an incredible difference.

and i LOL'd because i have:

  • a Sonoma (S10) with terrible wind noise around drivers door
  • a roll of double-sticky foam tape

so thanks to a 10-years-ago post by duster, i'm gonna tackle my wind noise issue tomorrow at lunchtime.

Michael, I'd be glad to come by and help on the Duster. I work the next 2 weekends unfortunately but let me know if you don't get it figured out by then.

Untouchable and professor; wouldn't turn down the help! I'm in over my head here with tuning. Or at least feel like I am. It already runs almost as good as it ever did with a carb, but it could be TONS better.

Also: the dead power buckets weigh close to 100lbs. Each.

The Lincoln buckets are dead. They never quite fit right, weren't that comfortable, and weighed over 100lbs each.

The dead motors make them less than useless.

Meet their replacement

The side mirrors on this car suck. Wont keep adjustment, and are all but useless due to shape.

So i bought these. New old stock aftermarket pieces that look similar to factory sport mirrors. The have a set screw underneath to lock them in place so they dont change when i put the cover on, or shut the door, or....

I modified the mounting hardware and brackets to ate up with the factory holes (no pics) and installed the passenger side. Since you have to pull the door panels etc, i also went ahead and lubed the windows and such.

Drivers side door needs adjustment and window needs repair. So i will do all that and the mirror at the same time.

Now, back to seat rail rework....

1/8 plate is plenty for seat brackets, right?

1/8" Steel Plate?  Should be fine as long as it's a fairly large piece.
