I feel this was $1000 well spent, needs a good tune up, has an engine noise I am hoping is just a pulley and needs some front A arm bushings.

Paint is good, no rust, everything works, seats 7.

The new one has the 4.6, tan interior with 4 captain chairs and the rear bench/bed. It also has a DVD player, good tires and it is black.

I like conversion vans, however my wife doesn't.

Nice purchase!

Nice! I'm diggin' the running boards, and of course, the black paint. Looks tough. I would have to black out the grill if she were mine.

Did you find that in Ohio or further south? I need something similar myself.

Man I miss my old 85 Conversion van with a 351. How does the 4.6 pull? Big block 5.4 in the future?

I don't know about the generational differences in the motors, but my '97 with the 4.6 struggled -- in some cases even without a trailer attached -- but my '06 with the 5.4 seems much more comfortable pulling some weight without a lot of downshifting drama. For a grand, though, and as nice looking as that one is, I wouldn't be crying in my beer over having the smaller motor :)

In reply to wae:

The PI heads help a lot. I think my 04 F150 Heritage could have out accelerated my 95 T-bird, despite all the extra weight. No idea when the switchover was on the vans, though.

The van has been worked out already, shopping, moved a couple of TVs, hauled the dogs to the vet.

Got to the cleaning up of the inside this morning, note the pile O parts.

Sweet. I have a vague lust for a van, but currently my Tundra is paid for and at just the right stage of awesome.

I somehow missed this thread. Nice. If it had a raised roof I'd be extremely jealous at that price. After a recent camping trip, I discovered my recently acquired Grand Caravan is really too small for my needs, so it'll be for sale soon and I'll be searching for a full sized van again. I'd still rather get a Sprinter, but those are expensive and used conversion vans are cheap.

Do the seats in yours have quick-releases? In my last van, seat removal was a royal PITA and pretty much a one-time deal (once out, the middle seats weren't going back in). What company did the conversion?
