Not quite ready for prime time yet, still needs brake lines and a fuel line.  It's a 1986 Fleetwood that's been modified for service work.  It's big, comfy and holds two corpses where the back seat used to be; because it's a 4 door the front seats don't flip forward.  The divider between front and back seats luckily is only a blue curtain.

As received it had a huge stainless bustle-tailgate out back that I could barely lift, it was hinged up front.  It's scrap now.  I made an air gate out of bed frame material that people chuck out on the side of the road.

I disabled the Caddy suspension leveling system puked so I rigged up air shocks in the back.

With 42,000 miles on it, everything feels solid, no excess play in anything.  I punched the cat and replaced the stock muffler with a Cherry Bomb.  The engine is a Buick 307 so don't get too excited.

As purchased:

I painted the side and front walls with bedliner stuff, then bought some Trex decking material and ripped the 1.5" height down to 1/2".  Evenly spaced leaving the stainless floor exposed yet protected from bangs & drops.

I like the black wheels enough to rethink the hub caps.  The wheels aren't equipped with nubs for Baby Moons.

You are going to be blowing peoples minds with how well finished that is.  The tires really make it for me.  Is there anything in the side boxes?

The bed turned out awesome! But can you show/explain the whole back door/seat situation? I don't really have a clue what's going on there.

I will go and take a better picture of the back seat later today.  Basically, draw a line across the roof where you want the back window.  Draw two more lines parallel to the trunk edges; remove everything inside the lines.

Build a stainless steel box reinforced with 3/4" square tube and drop it in.  Build a wall from the roof to the front of the box.  The blue wall in between is only material.  You're left with the rear footwells and about 18" from the bottom of the box to the factory floor (where the seat used to be).

Ah ol, I think I understand - so the box/rear window area is all sealed & water-tight, but you can reach between/behind the front seats into the rear floorboard area?

Looks like a great area for a speaker box!

How about fabbing in a couple tool drawers with long slides maybe?

yeah, after the explanation that's my understanding as well.  the first post gave me the impression that there was somehow still a complete back seat in place, and i was like oh yeah well i'm from missouri.

Dude. That looks way better than I would have guessed. Nice work. Amazing the change from the wheels and removing that silly tailgate thing.

A good friend of mine put caddilac taillights like that on his s10. It was really cool, and they are perfect for a truck.

It was a flower car, so it was meant for hauling bouquets and not bodies, but still a neat vehicle.

Pete & Angry:

The bed sits on top of the axle tunnel, making the bed only ~15" deep but leaving room under the bed where the back seat was.

Stuart:  It did haul the box, there are punch marks on the front wall where the coffin banged when pushing in.
