ok, Quick story of how slow I can be that may help someone later.I was at the U-Pull-It yesterday, and found a late model Saab with the nicest looking, smallish(for a small engine/quicker spool) turbo. I spend maybe 20 minutes or so disconnecting it. Somebody already yanked the cat-that's nice thinks I. Happily disconnecting coolant lines, there is a lot of dripping going on. Almost there, and I start to get the hose to the intercooler undone-It's been cut, and oil starts drippingon my head. Still, I'm thinking Garrett turbo.sweeeet. Finally I realize the oil is dripping out of the intercooler hose. I'm one line from having it out, and my brain grinds to motion. Somebody cut the exhaust. Somebody cut the hose(first), and upon seeing oil pour out realized that an intercooler full of oil=BAD SEALS ON THE TURBO. There is a good chance that's what took the car off the road. Oh well, I'm smarter today, and I (narrowly) avoided spending a dime.
